| Michael J. Coogan, M.D., FAAP, founder
and owner of Pedaegis, has practiced pediatrics since
1976, has served as Chief of Pediatrics at Our Lady of
the Lake Regional Medical Center, the largest hospital
in the Gulf Coast States, and is a past president of the
Baton Rouge Pediatric Society.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Woman’s
Hospital Foundation, one of the nation’s successfully
progressive hospitals providing care for women and their
infants. At Woman’s, he has served as Board Chair,
has chaired the Clinical Oversight Committe of the Board
and the Education Committee of the medical staff, and
has served on the Performance Improvement Council and
the Research and Development Committee.
He has been voted by his peers as one of the Best Doctors
in America , annually
since 1996.
He has performed case review for St. Paul’s and
for LAMMICO and he has served on multiple medical review
panels for the Louisiana Patients’ Compensation
Fund. In addition, he has lent his insight to many hospital
and health plan medical care review committees.
Through Pedaegis, Dr. Coogan makes his decades-long
experience available to pediatricians, attorneys and
insurance companies, thus helping them to manage the
burden of pediatric malpractice claims.
